I am the great great grandson of Mateo and Helena(Grbac) Benac. Great grandson to Rafeal Matiso Benac who came to America from Croatia. Just doing the family research.
Alison Benac from Southampton, UK on 2-, 2012:
Hi, I googled my name to see the interest I could be getting for my business and ....wow! I thought my family were the only Benacs in the world. My family lived in Port Said, Egypt. My great grandparents came from Trieste and Fiume(now Rijeka, Croatia)in Italy. I would love to trace my relatives...?
Sharon Cliff from Flower Mound, TX on 9-, 2011:
I feel like a lurker spying on you guys via facebook so thought I'd stop by here and at least acknowledge my stalker status. LOVE the Benac shenanigans. You are so fun. What a beautiful picture of and tribute to Allison! We remember you so fondly from the Dallas 1st Ward. Catherine was in Primary, Annie had an adorable pixie cut, Barbara and Bill sang ''besame mucho.'' But young John may have been my fave, despite the assertion of a sibling who-shall-not-be-named that ''there are better Benacs.'' Awesome family.
Leslie Agostino from Stamford, CT on 8-, 2011:
    Hello everyone:

Was just thinking about you all. Hope everyone is doing well. Don't know if any of ya remember me as it has been a while.
Jody England Hansen from Lakewood, CO on 8-, 2011:
Hi. You left a kind comment on my blog about the Temple to Temple bike jerseys and asked who had designed them. I designed them and we had Voler print them. Go to Voler.com and you could get information about styles and pricing. I scanned my design and sent it to them for printing the jerseys and t-shirts. The more you order, the more the price comes down. You did a great job with your family event shirts. Thank you for your comment.
Bonnie Flaherty from Punta Gorda on 6-, 2011:
    Allison,

While watching the food network I keep thinking that one of the contestants seemed formiliar. Then I made the connection with the name Mary Beth and had to do a search. It is great to connect with you again. Doesn't Mary Beth look great? Every bit as nice on the show as I remember her.

My best to you and your family.

    Bonnie
Federico Benac from Varese (Italy) on 5-, 2011:
    Nice family !!!

I didn't know there was a big Benac family in US.

    Ciao from Italy,
    Federico.
Kim Hyatt from Mt. Pleasant, UT on 1-, 2011:
The other day through a Google search I came across your family website where a photo of a common ancestor, James Whitehead Taylor, was posted. Now I can't find that specific page/post, but I really would like to track down the owner of the original portrait, painted by James Taylor Harwood.

    J. T. Harwood was the oldest grandchild of James W. Taylor and Ann Rogers Taylor; my grandmother, Lillian Marie Roberts Anderson, was the youngest. Somehow my grandmother inherited the matching portrait of Ann Rogers Taylor, also painted by Harwood. The story is that Harwood made the matching portraits to thank his grandparents for financing his artist training in Paris. I now have the portrait of Ann Rogers Taylor and I would be happy to post a photo of it to your website or email it to anyone who is interested. I would also like to know the whereabouts of the original portrait of James Whitehead Taylor to see if it can be copied.

Thanks to all - and anyone for your help.

Bill, I'd like to talk to Barbara. Our daughter Natalie Brinton Call is expecting twins and I think she'd love to talk with Barbara about raising twins. Much love to your family, especially Annie, the country mouse (as Barbara will remember) from Natalie the city mouse.
