January 16: Anxiety over Haiti could make you fat. We began our day finishing off a pint of Ben & Jerry's Cherry Garcia ice cream. That was breakfast. Not the most effective response to the tragedy unfolding in the Caribbean. So we donate, then vow to turn our efforts to this part of the Vineyard, where we have the delightful opportunity to teach a small band of children just who they are, where they came from, and where they are going. Meet part of our Valiant Band, who seem to enjoy our Sunday sessions so much they request photographs of our chalk board after our weekly "Chalk Talk" lessons. Note Sarah H. holding her iPhone, on which she looks of up scriptures via an App she bought with money she earned herself. She finds a sympathetic supporter in the Editor, never one to discourage using technology for wonderful purposes!
