TAYLOR FAMILY REUNION - JUNE 2000

The Taylor Family Reunion was celebrated in the Taylor ancestral home of Lehi, Utah. We proudly present the members of the Taylor Family: Parents Earl and Alice and 8 of their nine children: Keith, Ruth, Anne and Lenny the Editor, Margaret, Phil and Jeff. Our one missing member, little sister Rebecca, is buried in Lehi and the Family made a tearful visit to her little grave.

Our dear Grandpa Earl, (the Editor's father) led the assembled family around the Lehi cemetery and showed them houses in town which had been built and occupied by our grandparents since the founding of the town by Mormon pioneers arrived there in the late 1800's. The assembled 80 or so children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren enjoyed plenty of wonderful adventures, including an all-day climb of the formidable Mount Timpanogos by some of the Younger Set, a drive-in movie for an evening acitivity, a hike to Timp Cave, waterskiing on area lakes, and lunching in the Samuel Taylor house, which was once built and occupied by our family and has now become a delightful Main Street cafe. A particularly delightful time of the reunion was our final evening picnic at Bandwagon Park, where is exhibited the parade bandwagon that carried the musicians of the Lehi Silver Band, of which several of our relatives were a part and whose names were on a plaque next to the relic. Grace bears the name of our pioneer ancestress Emma Grace, an early Lehi pioneer who suffered and struggled mightily as a result of her move to the valley.
