Clan Gathers for Baby Blessing
A touching church ceremony was followed by a culinary festival this week as the Allreds blessed and named the newest member of the Family, little John Wilson Allred, aka Jack. He wore the same little white outfit that our firstborn son Bill Jr. sported on his own blessing day 25 years ago. The Taylors and Ashurst clans of Plano as well as members of the Lenny Taylors of Rowlette joined the Benacs and Allreds to celebrate the wonderful day. He is named after G-g grandfather John Wilson, father of our Grandma Helen Benac, as is our own son John.
Mary Heads for the Big Apple
In a gutsy move characteristic of Benac Women, our Mary decided to take on the Big Apple after her graduation from BYU. She has found temp jobs to keep herself going till she lands the job of her dreams (in science). We salute her nerve, and invite all to keep her in your prayers just in case she happens to encounter some challenges on the way! (Which we doubt would ever happen)!John Slings Sausage
John has landed a job slinging sausage and other specialty meats at the famous Dallas landmark, Kuby’s German Delicatessen. He loves the work and enjoys the fact that his girlfriend also happens to be on the payroll! As he prepares to embark on a road trip with friend Andrew Dempsey to California, he finds the idea of putting together a little cash charming beyond measure!Nubs Takes Piano Honors
Caroline finished the musical year in a recital and awards ceremony that yielded her the coveted blue ribbons for a superior performance in the Sonatina Festival and Keyboard Olympics. Watching her progress at the piano has been a true joy for the family, who have enjoyed attending her recitals and hearing her play for the Dallas First Ward at church, where she performed without a hitch!Aaron Prepares for TX Bar
Now that Aaron Allred and family have moved to Texas to work for Aurora Natural Gas in their legal department, he is required to get that Texas Bar Exam passed. After graduating from SMU Law School and heading straight to Chicago for his first legal job, our handsome giant thought he might be able to skip that detail, but alas, it comes to bite him after all. Undergoing a gruelling bar review course in the hopes of getting the rigorous exam passed off this July, Aaron looks forward; as does his family, to getting this achievement behind him. Keep him in your prayers! We remember the days when our own Daddy Bill was going through the same thing!Bethany Returns to Lake
For the first time in more than a year, our Bethany returned in triumph to the Halftime, where she joined the Parents, Nubs and the Allreds for a delightful weekend getaway on board the family barque. Blessed with an unusual interest and ability to pilot, Bethany ardently concentrated on her father’s instructions on how to run the Big Boat. Welcome Aboard, Beth!
Reunion Nears
The Fam is gearing up for yet another reunion of far flung relatives at the upcoming Taylor Family Reunion, to be held in Lehi, Utah; the birthplace of Grandpa Earl, and the settlement spot of our pioneer English ancestors who crossed the plains to join with the Saints in the arid West. We are so excited to be able to see our many cousins, grandparents, Aunts and Uncles of this very cool clan, and honor our departed Ruby and Len Taylor, who are pictured here
during the time they were running the Saratoga Resort along the shores of the Great Salt Lake. We know the effort and sacrifice of attending these reunions is well worth it and look forward to getting reacquainted with precious relatives. See you there!
Uncle Keith “In the Closet”
Did we mention that during the recent festivities surrounding the blessing day of little Jack Allred, we were hard pressed to find Uncle Keith? We knew he was somewhere at Allison’s house, but couldn’t find him! We wondered why Caroline was acting so sneaky as she spirited pillows out of the living room to an unknown destination. When the secret became known, we decided it would be best to expose Uncle Keith, who was discovered inside the front hall closet doing THIS!
